Well done Swordfish for such an amazing performance! You were all absolute Superstars that truly shined bright.
We have been looking at the ancient Greeks and have learnt that democracy began in Ancient Greece. In fact, the Ancient Greek system is very famous and has helped to shape many systems of democracy around the world today. However, we have been looking at some of the key differences between their political system and our political system nowadays.
Also, the children had the opportunity to read about the different parties Manifestos and make an informed decision of who they think would be the best party to vote for and the reasons behind their vote. The pictures show the children with their ballot cards ready to vote.
We have had some fantastic pieces of Creative home learning come in the over the last two terms. The last couple of weeks we shared some of the quizzes created by the children. It has been great to see them sharing their knowledge as well as testing each other on lots of different subjects. I cannot wait to see everybody's Creative home learning.
Last week, some of Swordfish class had the opportunity to go out of school and do some litter picking.
As you can see from the photographs, they really enjoyed their time. Well done for helping our local environment!
For the last two weeks, we have been carrying out a science experiment to determine the optimum conditions for mold to grow in. We had slices of bread in different positions in our classroom to see whether changing a variable (such as the temperature or whether it is in the light/dark) had an effect on whether the mold grew. We made predictions at the beginning of our experiment and were shocked with some of the results! Today, Swordfish completed the experiment by writing a conclusion and thinking about how the changed variable had an effect on the results.
I am glad to say, that the moldy pieces of bread are now in the bin.
